Airtel makes OTT content service free till June 2018 for competing Reliance Jio via Airtel TV App for prepaid & postpaid subscribers
On the day of the battle with Reliance Jio, some telecom operators are coming up with new schemes and plans. Now again Airtel has offered to keep its entertainment service free for the next six months for its customers to compete with Jio.
Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecom operator, has said that it will make its content available on Airtel TV for free on prepaid-postpaid customers by June 2018. This content will be based on free subscription. Airtel has mobilized more than 300 television channels and more than 6000 films and shows in their content pool.
At the same time, Reliance Jio offers free entertainment content to its users through live apps like Jio Cinema and Jio TV.
Airtel said that it has launched a new version of its Airtel TV app through which it will now be able to reach more diverse content users. Simultaneously, a large content catalog has also been collected for regional content so that the choice of regional customers can be met.
According to the company, users will have to download and install Airtel TV app on their smartphones and after that they can enjoy the best entertainment. At the moment Airtel TV app is available on iOS and Android platforms.
Airtel says that he has been continuing the process of connecting new partners with him so that the digital content available in all major platforms can be sorted and presented in one place. At present, Airtel TV has tied up with Eros Nau, SonyLive and Hook and many more platforms will also be added in the coming time.
Along with live television channels, more than 6000 Hollywood-Bollywood movies can also be viewed on this app. This app is currently available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Oriya, French and Urdu.
